Mathilde is located at 315 5th Street (at Folsom) in SOMA, the south of Market Street district and cultural center of San Francisco.

It's within walking distance of the Moscone Convention Center, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Metreon and countless hotels and boutiques, all south of Market Street.

Mathilde French Bistro opened its door on August 20th, 2015, in the South of Market area, it is the reincarnation of Le Charm French bistro, whom had been at the same location for the last 21 years. Mathilde French Bistro is the partnership of Lina Yew and her husband Thierry Clement, also chef owner of L'ardoise French bistro.

As you enter the door of Mathilde French Bistro, your senses will be delighted by the delicious aroma from the kitchen and the light filled dinning room, with its clean and modern design and yet a sense of nostalgia of the rustic French bistro. All the little design details such the replica 17th. century gold gilded wall sconces, the antique hot air balloon chandelier, and the whimsical "La Marianne" bust will remind you of France.

The cuisine of Chef Clement is traditional French, from the lusciously braised lamb shank, the 7 hour slow cooked duck confit in duck fat to the simple steak frites, you will find the very essence of French bistro dinning, to nurture the stomach and the soul. At Mathilde French Bistro, 100% of our meat are all natural with no hormone or antibiotic, and organic vegetables sourced when ever possible.
